EVERY DAY THOUSANDS OF HELICOPTERS ARE FLYING FOR THE COPORATE WORLD

Having been confined for a good many years to military, para-public or aerial work, the helicopter is now finding for itself a new role in what is essentially a civil market. Its great time saving potential has caused many commercial undertakings to now use the helicopter within the framework of its day-to-day activities.

The helicopter, the door-to-door aeroplane

Over long distance journeys the aeroplane will continue to remain faster than the helicopter. However, the wasted time associated with airports to which the aeroplane is confined is continually on the increase as is also the heavy traffic on the roads leading to them.

Over short or medium distance journeys, and even longer ones with several stopovers, the helicopter is able to avoid the airport and all its problems and offers a true door-to-door service. Despite therefore its lower speed the helicopter's total journey time may frequently be considerably shorter.

COMPARISON OVER A 300km TRIP

As an example we have compared an aeroplane cruising at 450kph and a helicopter at 230kph over a 300km trip

Journey to the airport 30mins
Boarding and take off
Flying 40mins
Landing & disembarking 15mins
Journey to destination 30mins
Boarding and take-off 5mins

40mins

Flying time 80mins
Landing & disembarking
TIME SAVED

The helicopter's journey time is faster than an aeroplane cruising at 450kph up to distances of roughly 600kms. Obviously this figure is even more to the advantage of the helicopter when considering slower aeroplanes.

Studying the average distance of your business trips will enable you to work out the time saved and gains in productivity accomplished with the helicopter.

HELICOPTERS DESIGNED FOR YOUR COMPANY

The helicopter, whilst offering considerable improvements in productivity to those personnel who use it, must not allow its capital cost or running costs to totally cancel out the advantages.

The main over-riding criteria when the civil helicopters were defined were therefore a substantial reduction in the operating and maintenance costs. This reduction was achieved through resorting to new but simple innovative technological solutions without in any way affecting the safety and performance, which have made helicopters famous and highly competitive on the world market.

Furthermore, these helicopters had to embody much improved qualities of comfort and silence lest the time saved on the journey was negated by the additional noise fatigue for passengers, and which would also allow them to work on the journey just as they would in an aeroplane.

Lastly, these helicopters had to incorporate sufficient versatility so as to allow their operators to accomplish a variety of missions:

  • passenger transport,
  • load-carrying, in the cabin or the cargo sling,
  • Surveillance, re-supplying, urgent breakdowns…

The requirements of the civil market and the realisation of the needs led to the development of both the single and twin engined designed helicopters.

Whatever your field of business, the single or twin-engined helicopter can prove useful, as nearly every commercial activity develops a certain number of travel requirements wherein the helicopter will have the answer. Following are just a few examples of areas wherein the helicopter can provide positive advantages:

  • Many companies are using the helicopter for inter-factory liaison work
  • Public works contractors fly their teams of engineers from work site to work site, thus avoiding considerable losses of time in surface transport. The helicopter also comes in useful in flying in those spare parts.
  • A clothing manufacturer, in addition to flying his senior mangers and customers around his business sites, uses his helicopter to assist his sales by giving his distributors the ability to offer joy rides to their customers.
  • Major banks transfer securities by helicopters.
  • A hotel chain uses its helicopter for fast-unscheduled inspection tours which used to take one week and now are achieved in two days.

The helicopter, whilst giving your company much improved efficiency and productivity, also gives it a dynamic, modern image to the outside world.

With 36 years aviation experience behind us when it comes to flying helicopters, we are more than competent to advise you how your company can profit from the helicopter in full.

The helicopter is not considered any differently to the corporate aeroplane and thus the finance schemes and financial regulations applicable to the aeroplane equally hold good for the helicopter

We hope that these few pages will have assisted you in appreciating the possibilities afforded by the helicopter and its total stability as a corporate helicopter.
