The advanced-technology seven-seat Model 407 for corporate and utility operations became the world's fastest-selling light helicopter in 1995 and has achieved more than 200 orders to date.

The Model 407 has a four-bladed bearingless, all composite-material, low-maintenance main rotor system developed originally for the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. However, the OH-58D's stability-and command-augmentation system was eliminated for simplicity by redesigning the rotor controls.
